11+ Late Sitting

11+ Late Sitting
My son did a late sitting this week - there were meant to be 9 children, but one did not show (and another was late - surely it can't be THAT hard to turn up on time!)
Anyway - the child next to my son had a watch. With an alarm. Which went off every 12 minutes. The child could not turn it off, and although my son had a go at stopping the alarm during the break, he couldn't do it either.
The invigilator decided to leave the child with the watch despite the disruption as the clock in the room was difficult to see and the child needed the watch to keep an eye on the time.
Surely this does not fall into "ideal" exam conditions?

Clearly far from ideal. I would have thought it was worth a letter/email to the school now raising it as an issue as they will be able to verify it with the invigilator and you will have a formal record of the issue before you have the results in case things do not go as well as you hoped and you need to appeal.
We had a similar issue years ago when my son was sat under a light which flickered for the whole day of testing.
