cats result

Post by missieme61 »

Hi im new to this, my ds had his cats results and he scored verbal 109, quantitative 96 and non-verbal 114...he is 9 years and 4 months, he is going into year 5 in sept and we are putting him in for the dreaded test in year 6. Can someone please tell me if he is going in the right direction ? thanks :)

Have a look at the table in B28 (d)

One expects Grammar School standard to be 'above average' - but just how far above average depends on local circumstances. In one area (or for one school), the 70th percentile might be sufficient. Elsewhere, it might need to be the 90th percentile.

It also depends on the format of the local 11+, and whether it suits your son. It could be VR only, or VR & NVR, or some other combination.

A single set of CATs results may not be reliable.
