I know I should probably hang my head in shame for being confused about this but how do you work out what "standardised scores" are - I see these referred to on this site. And does every LEA weight the final score according to a child's birthday?

Thank you.

Try this:
11 Plus - Standardised ScoresParents are often told that their child will have to attain above a certain Standardised Score in order to attain a place in the school of their choice. ...

A remark from someone on one of these forums suggests that not all authorities use standardised scores, or at least not for all papers. Try posting the question in the forum for your area (eg, Bucks, Berks, Kent etc)

On the same subject, does anybody know whether my child being born on 29th June means that he will be classed as being 10yrs and 4mths or 10yrs and 3mths when he takes the 11+ at the beginning of October?
