Hi All,
Am new to all this 11 plus stuff. I have managed to buy the CGP range of the 11 plus books. Have got all of them for maths, english, vr and nvr.
Bought the new CEM books aswell. But now reading the forum, am thinking the CGP ones are the best ones to be using. What do you all think and what did you find matched the 11 plus more? We will be doing Bucks and Berks if that helps.
Thanks x

Please advise which books these are?

Thinks you can only do one of these now with the new Berks rules for 2014! If you do more than one then the raw scores from the first test will be used.

Newbie121 - I would use the CEM books with caution....Uni Durham are VERY clear that there is NO CEM practice materials available for their CEM test. That is not to say that they won't be useful practice but please be aware that it may be a bit of a bandwagon jump by the publishers, rather than realistic!

Thanks Kenyancowgirl for the advice. So what should parents do for the CEM exams?

tbh we didn't really do a whole lot - both ds1 and 2 were doing Schofield and Sims mental maths at school (both were on Level 6 book in Y5), so we figured that covered the maths. We gave them copies of Bond VR and NVR books (practice NVR a lot as it is relatively easy to gain marks in that) and encouraged reading and understanding. That's it really - it worked for us!
