Vocabulary-rich kids movies?

Post by Ess30 »

Does anyone have any ideas for kids/tween movies that are a good for expanding vocabulary?

I guess something a bit old fashioned (or set in the past) would probably use more unusual words - but it obviously still has to be fun.

Hmmmm, I can't sit here and reel off how vocab rich they are but for more meaty and less dumbed down I would go for stuff like

Jumanji
The Time Bandits
Some Like it Hot
If they are keen, then any of the older war movies like Memphis Belle or the Dam Busters etc
Sound of Mucus (sorry music)
Mary Poppins!
Flambards
Jeeves and Wooster (great fun! Lots of words)
Dinnerladies, if you can cope with a bit of rudeness!

Interesting one!
