Yes. So the poster needs to be sure that the 5c and 4a are old nc levels and ask how they assess this way on the new curriculum.

Yes, Bazelle, we will focus on the English to bring it up and get some past papers for practice, Tiffinboys. Both good tips, thank you.
Mystery - yes, those are the old NC levels but when they were removed by the government they were not replaced with a new standardised system so those old levels are still relevant as a yardstick against which to measure progress towards being 11+ ready.
Tiffinboys, when you say level 6 would be safe for Tiffins, do you mean for them to be at level 6 now (term 2 of Year 5), at the end of Year 5, in term one of Year 6 or predicted for end of Year 6?
Thanks so much

At the time of test. And also remember that the test would cover all of KS2 curriculum, part of which would not have been covered at the primary school.

Most primary schools that I come across are continuing to use the old levels with the caveat that "we know these levels are no longer in the NC but we are choosing to use these to assess for the timebeing". Our school is waiting to see what other local schools come up with and will then take bits of those assessment tools; every school reinventing the wheel would seem to be a massive waste of time (no more of a waste of time than dealing with every government decision of course but at least this is one that can be somewhat avoided).
At dd's parents' evening (yr 7) I must have heard that phrase "we know these levels are no longer in the NC but we are choosing to use these to assess for the timebeing" ten times!!
