Hatch End 11Plus

Post by gulat »

Hi

Does any forumite have any feedback on Hatch end 11 plus tuition center. I have a DD in Y4 for whom I am looking for a suitable tuitions to enable her to take the 11plus and Independent school exams. We will be targeting the following schools: Berks, Bucks, HBS, St Michael. We are out of catchment for the SW Herts schools. The main query I had were:
- Is the center suitable if SW Herts is not your target
- Does it train students to take both CEM and NFER style exams
- Does it use own books or commercial books
- How does it feedback to parents on student progress
- Does it regularly evaluate students
- Does it train students to take the non multiple choice English and Maths papers in the areas of essay writing, comprehension
- Are children taught exam techniques
- How are children supported if they do not understand a topic
- How are children's weak areas identified

I know a lot of question, but any feedback would be appreciated. I have sent a PM to a few forumites who in the past had commented on Hatch End 11 plus tuition center but thought I would also follow up with a post.

Many thanks in advance for all feedback and help

We try to keep the forum as safe as possible - we don't allow tutors to be openly recommended, because it attracts posts with fake recommendations ('dodgy' advertising solely designed to solicit business on the internet).
It is also not unknown for unscrupulous competitors to 'plant' posts seeking to denigrate the opposition!

Genuine recommendations from forum members by PM only (private message) are permitted - but be aware of the possibility that someone who appears to be a 'helpful parent' offering advice may not be all they seem! There could be an ulterior motive.

Always treat recommendations from unknown persons with great caution.
However, we have many long standing members (check carefully the date of joining and number of posts) who make a very valuable contribution to the forum. If you receive a private recommendation from one of them, it could be worth considering.

Please let us know if you think anyone is abusing the system by soliciting for business or 'spamming'.
It's easy to report a possible problem - just click on the red exclamation mark that appears with every post and PM: Image
