Thank you for the info.

The 11 plus is an exam offered by various selective schools both private and state.

In London your school is not involved at all in the preparation for the exam so you need to prepare at home or go to a study centre or find a tutor.

Applications for QE boys open on their website in one weeks time on May 1st.

It is free to apply so I suggest that you register online on May 1st. Any boy currently in Y5 and resident in the UK is eligible to apply.

There is just one day of testing (a backup date for any boy who is ill is held a week later) which is 20th September.

The exams consist of multiple choice papers in English and Maths. QE have this year for the first time helpfully posted 4 sample papers in both English and Maths; two GL , one Bond and one CGP.

You can purchase more GCP, Bond and GL English and Maths multiple choice books from the forum shop.

I would also suggest that you register for the SW Herts Consortium exam when they open for registration.

They also have non catchment places at Parmiters and Clement Danes.

This exam also takes place on one day and is also GL Maths but the second exam is English CEM. Examples are on the SW Herts website.

If you are prepared to move there are other non catchment options. DG
