Hi All

Apologies I have scanned through but cant find much specific to this but am sure these have been asked before.

Looking to enter my child in for the bexley 11+ exams this September and possibly the kent exams. We are out of the exact borough but not by much but want to understand ppl's thoughts on this and how we have to do compared to people within the borough.

They are good at maths however quite weaker in English and I understand this is a key part of the 11+ which is a worry for us with the time left currently, has anybody got any tips on this area or experienced similar and worked through it to success? We have material (bond\cgp etc which we've been using) but not sure how to up their English game or what level is required for the 11+

Another point is they are a may baby I understand this impacts the scoring can anyone explain this clearer as I cant seem to get to grips with how that works.

Thanks in advance.

Look on the “regional” board threads in the georgraphical area of these schools and hopefully you’ll find some
Info relevent to the schools you’re thinking of trying for. Often people will discuss cachements, options, travel issues and appeals.

Age wise I don’t know about kent/Bexlet specifcally, but if the 11 plus is age standardised it usually means that the scores are divide by birth month. So your child’s score is calculated by comparing them with all the other May babies. The September borns are all compared with each other. So there’s no “advantage” to being born in a particular month, as like is compared with like. It’s NOT (as lots of folk seem to think) that the smaller kids get given “free” marks!
