Re: Mock exams: When, where and how many?
I think mock online exams are excellent as they are so flexible.
They give you a two week period and you can do the exam at any time to suit you in that time.
The results come very quickly and are very detailed. Having the timer right in front of you on the screen helps student deal with the reality of the time constraints. Watching time evaporate before your eyes.
I think there is room in the market for both; online mocks gives you focus on the actual topics, location mocks help with the reality of the exam hall, the invigilator, the noise of the other students, the toilet, what to wear etc.
If I had to choose one it would be online mocks as in the end it is not about the hall experience, it is about the work the students produces in the time period. DG
