Dear All,
I have seen references to Tudor House on this forum and a complaint made to the Advertising Standards Authority about them making misleading representations which was upheld.

The company advertises in local papers, outside schools and all over the country and target specific schools and imply that their courses are TAILOR MADE for entrance to specific schools.

During my search on the internet prior to finding out about this site I came across various forums where Tudor House (also called www.UniversalTutors.co.uk, www.Thesaturdayschool.co.uk ) would put postings with blatant advertising of themselves - whenever the subject of 11 plus came up even if it was a general topic not asking for help on the exams!
On conducting a quick search on two forums just now I found this company is still at it – I found the following entries below for Sept 2006:
The first one on Dooyoo does not disclose that the posting is by the company themselves! –but there is a clue as the writer is called “Joel” this being the same name used in the second posting in which he discloses he works for Tudor House !!

I would not trust this company ! If it were a respectable company the directors would not be using so many limited companies and names to trade under.
I know a parent who used the company and their son did not get through the grammar school but they learned afterwards from their son that the exam contained question types that he had not learnt at Tudor House !!. their courses are probably general and box standard for all schools and this would be misleading to parents!
The complaint to the ASA was made by a grammar school – their finding was that the school nor the suppliers made their past papers available and therefore the Tudor House could not imply in their advertisement that their courses or mock exams were representative of the actual exam !!
Many schools don't disclose sample or past papers so I don't know how Tudor house can claim to be special school specific course. Surely, some of the other grammar schools would have filed complaints by now.
