NFER in different schools - different exams?

Post by JaysDarlin »

Hello.

I am somewhat confused about NFER 11+ exams.

Scenario:

Slough Consortium has NFER NVR & VR 11+
Tiffin also has NFER NVR & VR 11+

what will the difference in the exams be?
Will Tiffin's be harder?
Will Tiffin's have more difficult words?
will they be just as easy as each other?
Will the questions be similar?
are there criteria which set different difficulty levels for different schools?

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks.

Hi

My daughter sat both these for 2008 entrance. She (and 2 of her friends who did the same) said that although both papers were NFER and therefore in a familiar format, the Tiffin ones were MUCH HARDER. Obviously this is just hearsay but I would say that all the kids onteh bus on the way back seemed to be in agreement that it was the hardest they did. That said, they had done minimal practise, just some NFER papers and a few IPS, and they all passed so perhaps the important thing is just to prepare them for the shock so that they do not panic?

Hope this helps

National Foundation for Educational Research. They set the papers for many 11+ exams
