I've just done a quick count of the number of primary places available in Bexley (sad, I know) and I reckon there are just under 3,000 places in Bexley primary schools and, of course, they're not all full. This must mean that around 2,000 out of borough children sat the test hoping to get one of the top 180 places (unless they live very close to the borough boundary and might fall into catchment)!

Dani - I don't think you need worry about the pass mark being significantly higher next year. In 2005 the pass mark was 434 for 4 exams which equates to 217 for two. In 2007 the pass mark was 436 which equates to 218 for two, but that was the year Bexley Grammar reduced its intake by one form. This year the pass mark was 219 and coincides with Erith having lost its bilateral status (60 places at Erith counted towards the total number of GS places in the borough). So the pass mark has only moved from 217 to 219 in 4 years despite the borough losing around 90 GS places.
What I find interesting is that the threshold for the top 180 scorers has jumped significantly. In 2005 it was 483 - ie 241.5. In 2007 it was 487 - ie 243.5. This year it was 251. So it has increased by almost 10 marks in 4 years.
