We are using Susan Daughtrey at the moment and are considering to use the tutors cd, we also have the test papers from NFER but we are keeping those until the summer.

Advise on which other materials that would be good for the Bexley test would be very much appreciated.

Thank you
Dani

are they the practice papers you are using? The actual books cover types of question which aren;t covered in Kent/Bexley. I have found teh Tutors Cds really useful, 1 more so than 2. IPS also have some useful stuff.

The NFER are the practice papers, but DD hasn't seen them yet. I bought them ages ago, curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to see what they looked like considering they are supposed to be published by the same exam board as the Bexley test.

What worries me about the NFER papers is that the maths seem rather easy, but some people on these boards are saying that the pitfall in the real Bexley test seems to be long wordy questions, which is not reflected in the NFER test papers. I therefore wonder how close to the real thing these papers really are.

Considering VR is our weaker area I'm worried about working through test papers which are easier then the real paper and not having covered all question types. I think the Susan Daughtrey books are good for someone who is new to VR but I don't know if they cover all the Bexley question types. Will definitely have a look at the IPS books and get the tutors in time for the Easter Holidays. Many thanks for the tips, greatly appreciated.

Dani, the vr papers are very close to the real thing in both Bexley and Kent. Papers b, c and d are the easiest, in fact, I think d is extremely easy, my dd got 85% on this one at Easter time yet she failed the Bexley test by quite a bit. I would give them to your dd in reverse so d, c, b then a.
As the pass mark keeps rising I suggest you need to get at least 80% on paper A, I know the indies don't like their kids getting anything less than 90%.
Knowing what I know now, I would follow Patricia's guide: where she says certain types are 100% achieveable, make sure you get exactly that. That way it allows for couple of mistakes on the day.
