Anyone else?

Feel like it has been enough. DD seems totally fed up.
Miss just enjoying summer and not worrying about 11 plus.

DD did better in test papers a few weeks ago, had the same problem with DD1 who passed. Think this is a sign that enough is enough now...

Is it just me??

Stay positive, think positive it will all be over in a month's time 8)

Don't worry about the past test scores, let her rest for a few days then gently reintroduce the technique on all the known question types. Mix up any work with play time, but if need be tell your dd everyone else is doing it so we should be too.

What will be will be, just don't give up just yet.

When DD took her 11+ in the summer holidays, on our actual 2 weeks away, she did absolutely nothing and when we got back we did short 10 min tests and general question types, every 3 or 4 days. Got her to look at wrong answers and work out where she'd gone wrong. No full timed papers till she'd gone back to school in Sept. This approach seemed to suit her.

ps she did pass.

By this point I was doing anything to keep his confidence up as I had realised that this was more important than anything else. I made him do his strongest areas so that the resulting good mark would give him a boost. I avoided stuff that he usually scored low on. It is too late to do any serious learning, especially as most children by this time are fed up. However, it is not too late to work on the psychological side and use whatever works for your child to best advantage. That includes reducing the pressure around not doing well. My ds believes to this day I did not care how he did in the test because the other schools around here are fine and I just wanted him to be rewarded for all his hard work. If you are giving the impression it's pass or bust please stop. He seemed relaxed on the day and by my calculations seems to have done better in verbal reasoning on the day than he did in any test or mock exam. So good luck and it can just be ok on the day.
