I tried the 0161.... number and hear the message 'this number is not recognised'. Have sent the benefit letter request via the link on the HMRC website a couple of days ago. Haven't even received an acknowledgement yet.

Got through the 0300 number after a 25minute wait. Was told that the letter would be sent within three weeks.

I applied online and received for 2 weeks. On another note it only contains the first names of my children ...
