LB Bromley / eadmissions - need 'personalised common applica

Hi
Am suddenly a bit stressed! Hopefully am just going a bit mad, rather than anything more serious!
Tried to log on to the admissions site. It doesn't recognised my username or password (a side issue, have contacted them to rectify, password reset doesn't work)
Anyway...the site says Bromley only process admissions from people to whom they have issued a 'personalised common application form'. I haven't received one. I have sent them proof of residence and parental responsibility. I got a letter back entitled 'moving on to secondary' with the booklet. But no personalised Caf
(DS is currently at independent primary in Bromley, which complicates things I believe)
The admissions team have left a voicemail saying they aren't answering calls until 28.9.15, and an automated email reply saying they hope to get back to me within...10 days (!) I therefore have zero confidence that anyone will deal with it.
Does anyone else have a personalised common application form? Can others log into admissions? Am I just going mad?!
Any wisdom gratefully received!

HH

DD is at an independent and it sounds like we went through a similar process. I first called back in April (as previous booklets said those in independents had to contact them but it was rather hidden) and they put me on their list to send a call for information pack to. I then got a form asking for child benefit letter (it had to be this and no other proof) and council tax code. I sent this off but never heard anything back so I called again. I managed to speak to someone in August. They said as long as I completed all the details, the key being the council tax number then it should be ok. She checked their records and said they have to manually enter the data and mine wasn't in yet but should be very soon. I have managed to create a draft eAdmissions entry but haven't submitted yet for obvious reasons.

I list out the steps just in case you can see any difference that might help.

Thanks Fiona, manually entered data?! That all sounds rather alarming! We've sent them the council tax no and child benefit form. I'd like proper confirmation though, for something so serious! So I take it you could submit now if you wanted to, but are just waiting on results? Or do Bromley need to enter the info before you can submit? I'm not even able to log in, so not sure what format is. Anyway, cheers, v much appreciated!

Yes, I have every belief we could submit via eAdmissions now, but we are awaiting the results of the grammar tests. I will only know for certain if it has worked when I click on submit button and get some sort of confirmation.

Yes the manual entry did worry me and seemed very inefficient and prone to error so didn't fill me with confidence either. It isn't a criticism of LBB, more human nature. i had half expected a paper form or an additional code to come through in the post. Apparently not but I will always be worrying a bit until that formal offer comes through.

Cheers! If I hear any further info, I'll post it.
All the best.

Hi,

I sent off the green form and child benefit letter and got back the same, an envelope with the Bromley Admissions leaflet and covering letter, all generalised.

I have assumed that I am now registered so I have gone onto eAdmissions and provisionally completed it awaiting the Olave's and Bexley results.

Fingers crossed we have all been registered.

Hi ladies
It must be an independent thing. DD at state primary and my details were on the site. Only took a couple of mins to complete the form. Submitted already. You can change your selection and resubmit as many times as you want until deadline day.

Hiya
Thanks for the info, when you say your details were already on the site, do you mean from your previous (ie primary school) application, or something additional? Mine were at state primary until recently, so previously registered on eadmissions.
Good that you can resubmit up until deadline. I think it's a good idea to at least have something. I keep thinking 'should I leave detailed instructions for my husband, just in case I fall into a coma/under a bus/get amnesia etc etc before 31 october'! Tragic, no?!
Best wishes all!

Happy Hamster I am sooooo glad I am not the only one who's thought of the 'In the event of' dilemma. The mortgage can go to **** and employers can wait but the 11+ and school applications just can't be left to chance. DH gets an updated spreadsheet of school applications, logins and 'what is outstanding'' on a regular basis and it driving him batty! :o - anyway. Once DD has finished last test in Jan I will be applying to the rehab thread for some TLC.

Yes it is just for Independents transferring to state secondary. Although there is a paragraph at the start of the Bromley admissions booklet telling parents of Indy children to register I have to say there were a lot of mums at my sons school who weren't aware of it and have been rushing to do it this week!

If you are in state primary the forms are done automatically at the end of year 5.

I kept all my emails from Bromley admissions and I kept a copy of the green form that I sent in by post. So if some disaster occurs I will at least be able to prove that I did everything on time and correctly.

Roll on March 1st 2016..........................
