The Bexley booklet says that all the grammars except for Towley now calculate using a straight line. You can google "as the crow flies " and a few calculators can be selected.

Thank you Salsa. I wonder that sort of distances are considered. We are 4.14 miles Straight line.

The distances offered, up to June per the Bexley schools admission booklet, were Beth's 8 miles, Bexley Grammar 3.4 miles, Chislehurst and Sidcup 4.3 miles and Townley 8.1 miles.

You can email Bexley Admissions and they tell you exactly what they consider your distance to the schools to be.

In another county I had one DC fly in with a high score the other snuck in with the lowest. It made no difference at all both were equally academic or not so in the first's case as the lower scorer has had a much easier ride through secondary school.

Your DD has rightfully gained her place some of these scores are very close anyway so congratulations enjoy. :)

We really proud of her - she got quite anxious about the test , so we were aware nerves could affect the result . I think she will be fine , she works hard and loves school at the moment , so have wondered how much it actually matters how much they get in by , also wondered if the secondary school even knows the score they get .

Just need to have a look round and put the application form in , then hopefully forget about it all until March !!!
I wouldn't worry one bit! Level 6 and reading age 15+! Great!
