Raw scores

Post by boardfleet »

The team at Bexley are already replying to emails giving out details of raw scores. Makes quite interesting info.

ds (10.11) got

VR 86/110 = 248
Maths 34/40 = 241
NVR 50/53 = 259

Yes I received the raw scores too
DS was 10 years 11 months at time of test

VR 84/110 (247)
NVR 42/52 (234)
Maths 39/40 (257)

I really wonder how they standardise!

Thanks both, that is really useful information! My DD1 missed the top 180 by 5 marks and as we are OOC am curious to see her score breakdown so I can over analyse our chances for Newstead

Can I ask who I should email?

Thanks!

Hi all,

Yes, very useful information for future years. Could you please post here what raw scores were needed to obtain a pass? We were speculating that it was from 55 to 60%.

When you email selectiontests@bexley.gov.uk quote your child's name, DOB and their given Reference ID.

Thanks,

Very interesting raw scores - anyone else happy to post their scores as it proves useful to trying to work out raw scores required to obtain a certain sd score. :D

I was just trying to work out how they have standardised as the SD figures for each subject area looks odd. I think this is what they might have done.

Basically children sat two papers with a break in between. And each paper had the following subject areas:

Paper 1
----------
VR Part 1
Maths Part 1
NVR Part 1

Paper 2
----------
VR Part 2
Maths Part 2
NVR Part 2

What they seem to have done is standardise the above 6 separately and then add the SD scores of each subject area together i.e VR Part 1 + VR Part 2. And this gives us the mystery figure in 200's for each subject rather than the usual 100's.
