Hi all,
DD will be taking tests for Newstead, Kent (TGS) and Sutton (Wallington). We are in Beckenham, so OOC for TGS and Wallington. She took St Olaves Mock and this is her result:

Percentage rank within cohort: 88%
Percentage rank within same sex cohort : 85%

I know it all depends on the cohort on the day, but from as a rough indicator, is this position good enough for the schools I mentioned?

Your result included a detailed breakdown for each subject.

Were any weaker than the others? DG

Yep. Her weakest area was English. Maths and VR her strengths. She is improving well in NVR.

85% sounds like a good result.

We will be applying next year, also from Beckenham. Just want to understand: to get into TGS and Wallington schools, do you need to be among the top 180 students to get in, because Beckenham is out of catchment? I looked through TGS admission policy and it specifically refers to near by areas only. Slightly confused if it is worth applying from beckenham...

Thank you and good luck!

Schools in Bexley apply the top 180 score admissions criteria (if you score in the top 180 you are guaranteed a place) It doesn't apply to schools outside of Bexley,

Thanks Anna. We plan to move closer to the school (wherever DD gets in) and then buy a house there (hopefully!)
