Can't quite believe that a school with £2m in unrestricted reserves failed to pay out its hardship fund.

Hopefully the incoming new management will be able to sort this out - there is a good cohort of kids at this school, should be possible to get back to focusing on them.

Terrible - well done to those that exposed this.

Report also includes this comment about finances "... and retained hardship funds for disadvantaged pupils, worth more than £50,000 that went unspent."

I actually shuddered reading that article...awful, awful, awful...those complicit should hang their heads in shame.

It's horrifying isn't it? Those young people in such despair about their school place being taken away - the people responsible must have known they were not acting in the best interests of students. Awful.

Awful.

Hopefully this is also a wake-up call to other schools that exclude at the end of Year 12. I know one of the single gender Bucks GS had a similar transition policy - I'm not going to name it as it may have changed since a parent told me about it.

Rather shockingly one comment states one of the boys poor results was due to "A teacher was being prosecuted for grooming and ******** offences against a pupil. The boy was in Year 12 when the court case was due to be heard. The boy had to give evidence. This was just as the boy’s exams started. There was national publicity. He was being shown newspaper coverage as he went into exams. He blanked out in two of them...They [the parents] pointed out that it was a school employee who had molested their son and the school should have shown greater leniency towards him." - Poor young man, as a parent I don't think I would have wanted my child to stay on under those circumstances but we don't know the full picture and taking him away from a support network of friends probably wouldn't have helped either. More going on than just the exclusions.

I am wondering where are Ofsted in this?

That's absolutely shocking and terrifying that the school could show such a lack of compassion towards the children entrusted to its care.

Any actions taken should not just be directed at the former head and the school. Each individual school governor who was on the governing board at the time of all these dreadful actions should be individually dealt with. They each had a duty of care to all the children and it makes no difference that some of them are in the clergy and employed by the diocease.
