No, they can choose any school they like regardless of the distance.

Remember that these are standardised scores, so your DC's score is not 'out of 280'. The standardised score on its own tells you nothing at all about their actual score in the exam.

Standardised scores are similar to percentile rank although the expressions are different.
As you see below, 100 indicates the average score, which is equivalent to 50 percentile.
Statistically, around 2/3 of kids (in their age group) score between 85 and 115, and around 95% score between 70 and 130. Usually, we say that the lowest score you can achieve is 60 and the highest 140 as over 99% score within the range. The Bexley test consists of two sections, which is why I said 280 rather than 140.
To be accurate, I should add that it is possible for your child to be an outlier who scores above 280.
