Surely it doesn't matter what triggered the inspection, because the report hasn't identified any significant issues and the school maintains an outstanding.
As a prospective parent, I found that report really reassuring. Newstead does get some bad press on social media. A prospective tutor told me the school had terrible pastoral care when I said that was one of the possible grammars. That shocked me more than the stuff on social media.
But this report makes me think that, as with most grammar school environments, the school works for academically able and academically confident girls. And there is good support.
For me, the next thing that the school needs to do to improve their public image is to improve the open day - and I would think the only thing they need to do there is have two. But, all in all, I think this report will be a good thing for prospective parents.
