I am with you guys! My poor dd is also doing 'accelerated' spanish. She is feeling very stressed and has been told that only A* or A will be 'good enough'
She will be 14 when she takes the final paper.

Maybe not for some LFH, but not all are natural mathmaticians, and the stress factor is quite tough on some.

I really dont understand why school are still insisting at all on the accelerated learning in any subject. Thats so yester year when only the gifted kids used to do it. It can even affect the chances of a child gaining a place at some good universities.

A few weeks ago there was an article in the Guardian about a girl who had 14 A* at GCSE yet she didnt even get an interview at Oxford. It then turned out she has written some of her GCSE early and so the admission tutors had disregared them. She was later offered an interview when they appealed and showed she had done some GCSE early. There could be hundreds of students like this being turned down by Universities for the simple fact that the did AL.
Impossible is Nothing.
