GCSE ICT
Any ICT teachers out there?
DS is due to take his options. We have compulsory iGCSE ICT on his list (unless he chooses optional computing).
Given the announcement by Mr Gove last week re. the changing of the ICT curriculum from next September, does anyone know what is likely to happen?

Re: GCSE ICT
It's tempting to suggest the optional computing would be a safer option. I for one have no clue exactly what it is Gove is talking about, nor do I have any clue where the people to teach whatever it turns out to be are supposed to come from (given that most ICT teachers aren't qualified in ICT anyway, never mind Comp Sci or whatever Gove means instead). It looks like being an unholy mess, best avoided if at all possible.

Re: GCSE ICT
Watching this with interest. It is very unsettling trying to make good choices at the moment when the goal posts are moving.
DS' school is offering CiDA (& DiDA)..... not sure that this is for DS as it sounds quite a 'creative' course - which he is NOT! Also. the units chosen depend on the strengths of the class and not the individual, so it would be awful to have to do, say, multimedia when his preference might lie elsewhere.
Choices, choices!!!
