Dear all,

I'm looking for a good tuition for GCSE's in London for my 13 yo DS, preferable if they teach in groups or even if it's one to one.

Also, is there any practice books that anyone could recommend please?

If you know which boards go to the websites for sample papers etc. Lots of practice/revision books available on Amazon (and other websites presumably). Lots of the specifications have changed so make sure you are looking at the correct ones - I found it very confusing.

BEWARE!

All the GCSE syllabuses are changing in September - there will be very few people who understand the implications and no past papers.

Dear scarymum, do you know what series of books are good? I've heard of CGP but not sure about them.

Guest 55 - do the syllabus changes apply to iGCSE's as well?

I would start any tuition until your child has started the course. Then you can be sure of the syllabus and any optional parts of it.

No idea re iGCSEs - we don't teach them.

It will depend on the board, the specification etc etc. As G55 says, wait until your DC is doing the courses and the school will probably recommend practice/revision materials (my DCs' school sells the ones they recommend).
