ds became ill during exam

Ds had maths gcse this morning.
During the exam he began to get pains in his stomach and started to feel sick. He put his hand up and someone came to speak to him. He explained he was feeling ill, so one of the adjudicators stayed near him incase he needed to go the toilet
His pains got worse and my ds ended up with diarrhoea and needed to go to the toilet twice during the exam.
He has said he feels the actual exam went well, however I am concerned. Both times he went to the toilet he lost that time from his exam. Also having pains in his stomach is bound to have had an effect on his performance
I have since phoned the school over it. 1st phone call the receptionist said she would leave a message for adjudicator to phone me.
By 2.45 I hadnt heard anything so phoned, spoke to different receptionist who got ds head of house to phone us back.
Head of house phoned back and spoke to hubby, he said he had not been told anything at all about ds becoming ill or needing to go to the toilet twice.
He said the adjudicator should write these things down
He did say the adjudicator might have taken the paperwork home with him but he wouldnt be able to chase it up now till monday
Anyone know what happens in such occasions

He should be able to get a form for "special consideration" from school - school will need to do their bit too and send it off to the exam board. My daughter did it last week (was on antibiotics), and I was reading about it this morning - they have a sliding scale of 1-5% of the raw marks that are applied in various circumstances, so for my daughter she should get 2% added on to her papers for that day.

e.g. Edexcel - http://www.edexcel.com/iwantto/Pages/sp ... ation.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for that I will take a look
Did someone tell you about the 2% for your dd or did you read about it on the link you gave

Yeah, in that link there's a link to the JQC who oversee all the boards, and they give a good breakdown of what you need to happen to get however many percent :-)

Thanks
I have scanned through it and it looks like ds should be intitled to 2%
I am concerned that his head of house knew nothing about it
I have spoken to ds and he said 3 adjudicators were involved
1 male who he spoke to about feeling ill
1 female who stayed near him to make sure he was alright
2nd male who escorted him to the toilets
I am hoping it has all been documented
If not then I know other children were aware of ds leaving the room as my friend text me asking if my ds was ok as her ds noticed him leaving the hall
Do you know how long school have to fill in the forms for special consideration - nothing can be done now till monday and I am concerned that this is to late

It would be helpful to have a doctor's note saying what was wrong and the impact.

Exam board decide if ANY marks will be added and this may only happen near a grade boundary.

Was this a module paper - unit 3?

It was a linear maths gcse exam, higher calculator

Did you take him to the doctor today?

They will be able to compare his performance in both papers. Teachers have to fill in a form but I would not hold up too much hope for added marks; it is rare to get any and I've been teaching more years than I care to remember!

No I didnt, didnt know I had too. He became ill during the exam. He made them aware of it and they escorted him to the bathroom twice during the exam due to diarrhoea. Going to the toilet twice took time away from his exam
Should they have given him the time at the end that was lost during the bathroom trips
Would we still be able to go to the doctors monday or would this be to late

School should have told him to get a doctor's note.

You don't get extra time for leaving the exam room but the invigilators may have noted how much time he lost.
