Thank you for your comments. God knows what he'll decide to be. As at know, it's either an actor or a mechanical engineer. I'd bore you with the list of professions he has liked in the past!Catseye wrote:Top universities may say they value all-rounders but for some of their very specialised courses like STEM/MED/DEN they want specialists with a focus on relevant subjects.
I think this why the offers are relatively high for IB imo.
I could be wrong. it's becoming a habit of mine
Law is a general subject and I would suggest one of the most useful subjects at A levels is ironically maths.

But I ahve many regrets, forced to medicine by my parents and school.
Let young minds make mistakes, if they really are that bright they will find their own way in life.
No coercion required.

+1. Some people find it hard to sit back and let children make mistakes. Without giving personal details on here, I can say now that I recommend this approach more than ever. They will find their own way.Catseye wrote:I did in the end.Catseye wrote: They'll find their way one day.

Don't we all have some regrets? Or at least anyone with any intelligence and self-awareness does. Part of life, surely?

Yes, I agree.
