Hello
I am looking at secondary schools for my ds's CAF.
One of the local grammar school has nice percentage of EBACC but is 0.18 in progress 8 which is very low comparing with other local grammars. Can anyone tell me what it means?
Because I am a mum of far GCSE kid, I absolutely have no idea.
Thanks!

Progress 8 is a measure of progress from KS2 tests - it is not a single value though so if you click on the ? on the DfE perfomance tables you will see there is a range.

https://www.gov.uk/school-performance-tables" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

0.18 is not a value to worry about. I'd look at the GCSE results subject by subject. For example, there is a GS in Bucks with a negative Progress 8 score because the students did iGCSE English!

There could be a similar/valid reason why the school you are looking at is lower than others which may not indicate any worries at all.

If you care to PM me the school then I'll have a look and see.
