International GCSE

Post by Nou »

I have just found out that my daughter's new school has adopted the IGCSE as they felt that science in particular was "dumbed down". I am aware that some other independents have done the same.

I just wondered whether anyone had particular opinions for or against doing these GCSEs rather than the "normal" type.

Thanks.

Mixed opinions - some science teachers I know feel they are 'boring and old-fashioned' and not much emphasis on practical science.

Most state schools won't do them as, at present, they don't count in league tables ....
