Re: GCSE mathematics formulae you need to know
I was the last year of O level and we definitely did them then.Surferfish wrote:I thought that back in my day (early GCSE) we didn't do sine rule, cosine rule and quadratic equation until A level but maybe I'm wrong?
We were having this conversation the other day as dh was the first year of GCSEs and can't recall whether he did them then or at A level. He thinks GCSE though.
Re: GCSE mathematics formulae you need to know
I did do the quadratic equation at O level but not the sine and cosine rule, that was A level for me.
I did do some basic calculus at O level though.
I guess different boards did slightly different things.

Yes, these are the formulae not given now. I don't have an 'official' geometry one but google will show a selection; pick the one you like best.

Is this one any good?

Re: GCSE mathematics formulae you need to know
I'd avoid that one personally.
Re: GCSE mathematics formulae you need to know
It was more for the formula sheet on its own. I hadn’t looked at the website at such.

No offence, but I don't personally like the layout of that one. Looks like someone's hand written revision notes all over the place and a bit confusing to me.
Re: GCSE mathematics formulae you need to know
Like G55 says, there’s plenty around, just pick the one you (or rather DC) likes best.
Re: GCSE mathematics formulae you need to know
The important thing with geometry is you need to give a proper reason now; just saying an infomral name like 'Z' angles or 'butterfly theorem' is not good enough -
