DD didn't think the chemistry was easy, but it was much more like the sample papers they have been doing.

DD said chemistry was hard but doable apart from one 3 mark question that she just couldn't remember how to do.

Chemistry and Latin both fine here - she ran out of time on the Latin essay so she will try and speed up the comprehension bits on Monday. Essays are not her thing so no great surprise - at least she didn't run out of things to say before the end

Looks like quite a few different boards being done on here for the science papers, so difficult to compare feedback. As for grade boundaries, who knows as this is the first year for the linear GCSEs. Remind them to revisit their required practicals. They should know which ones will come up on which paper, even though they might get carrots rather than potatoes. Apply the knowledge. Good luck everyone DC’s and families.

Except I’m told that it wasn’t actually potatoes, but eggs. Confirms my point about lots of different papers being done on here. Eggs Aqa biology single sciences, carrots Aqa trilogy. I was trying to be helpful and remind your DC's, if they need it, that they need to apply the principles of what they have learnt as they may not get the exact same thing in the exam.

There seems to be some issue with a question about Chadwick’s experiment on the AQA chemistry paper. Anyone else had their DC mention this one. DD only mentioned it in passing, but since then one of her friends has since mention of it on Twitter with a screenshot of the spec saying knowledge of it wasn’t needed.

AQA combined science trilogy higher (chemistry)- not good at all. She’s not keen on science or maths so hoping tomorrow will be better for her.
