I am hoping someone can tell me if any of their children have done the above in Sixth Form. The first one is the Global Youth Leadership Conference held in Washington and then onto New York for sightseeing. Does it look good on your Personal Statement or is it just a money scam? The second is the chance to sample a law course for 3 days at Nottingham University my children's grammar school is about to offer these courses up to their students and I know that mine will jump at any old jolly thats going. Are any of the above value for money? Please advise.
Thx

I sometimes think that these are probably rather fun and quite interesting but as they can be booked and paid for by the parents they shouldn't have much clout on the personal statement.
There are quite a few aimed at med students - Nottingham do one, there are trips to Gambian orphanages etc.

Nottingham do many versions for different disciplines.
Some of my students went on a Business and Management course a few years ago, and thought it was very worth while.
Not so sure you need to go as far as New York though :)
