Can anyone tell me if this combination of subjects is good.
Maths
Further Maths
Economics
Physic or Chemistry (4th subject)

Any other suggesions or combination on subjects will be appreciated as this is the first time we are going through this process and do not have much of an idea. Son rather confused as made a few mistakes with GCSE subjects therefore want's to get it right for A'Levels.

Hi Gaba and welcome

All comes down to what he wants to do after school. This combination (which I have know a fair few students do ) will be fine for :

Maths
Economics
Physics
Chemistry

and quite a lot of other subjects.

Yes it also will be fine for Engineering.

Try the website http://www.ukcoursefinder.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and it will give you a pointer towards what he could do at university.

That's fine for that too - do get him to try the free website above as that will show other options based on his interests.

Are these all subjects he enjoys? That is very important at A level.

Hallo Gaba

My DS1 took Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Chemistry at A'level and has just finished his first year reading Maths at Bath. Once he had embarked on his A'level courses he felt that Physics might have been more useful than Chemistry because, as I understand it, there is some degree of overlap eg mechanics.

As neither is relevant to his future choice of career and assuming he likes them equally then I would look at the school's results in both subjects and see which is the most successful.

In all this helpful advice about choosing subjects the OP's DS enjoys, etc, there is the assumption that he is not a pupil at QE in Barnet...
