I think it's statistics , guest55.
I dont think he heard anyone specifically ask for chem or physics, he says the statement was that students with chem/physics would be seen as strong candidates. It was maybe from the Imperial website, not sure now, and he's out at the moment, so can't ask him
I think someone with English and biology would be seen in a similar light, but he won't listen to me.

LFH - tell him I said so!

No, seriously, get him to look at University websites at course requirements.

I would not advise changing AS courses now if he does not need to as he will have missed a fair bit. If he is not enjoying his choices then that is a different matter ...

Thanks scary. It's as I was trying to convince him then.
We've had a bit if a chat and he's having a wobble - I've told him to speak to his head of year, the main maths teacher and the head of chemistry ASAP to see if they have anything to add. The careers guy is apparently a bt of a waste of time ...what is it with careers advisors in schools !

Any careers advisor has got to be better than the one I had at school.

'are you sure you want to do all three sciences? That could be a bit difficult for a girl.

I told her was was at the top of the class for two of them and close to top for the third.

I didn't have the heart to tell her I wanted to be an engineer.
