Whatever the outcome it is never the end of the world. It might mean a change in direction or a rethink but there is always a way forward.

Parents are so important to reassure them in the next few daya, some will be scared that they won't be loved if they don't get their grades.

I'm not sure "looking forward" is quite the emotion I have, but thank you for your good wishes. Everything firmly crossed here.

Edexcel results are online if the school has signed up for it.

Knowing you have a confirmed place through an unconditional offer is great but it doesn't mean there is no worrying about results. Clearing won't be an issue but bet there will still be sleepless nights and an eagerness to get it over with.

Guest55 - does the school not get the results through the day before?

Be thinking of everyone on Thursday. Expecting it to be disappointing for us so can't decide if I want it over or that glimmer of hope to continue. Not sure I've got any better at it despite all the years of practice!

The paper copies arrive by post on Thursday - we get them electronically before that.

I see now, thanks.
Hope it all goes smoothly for you and there aren't too many distraught pupils.

How unconditional, is an unconditional offer? does that mean regardless of the result?

Yes - unconditional is just that ... a confirmed place.

In the old days you had to pass two A levels to qualify for a grant but those days are past ...

Good luck everyone! We're waiting for AS results and my DD has set her heart on a university that wants AAA at A-level so needs high AS grades to be in with a chance. She is convinced she has a U in the subject she is dropping. Dreading next year when we will have double the stress (GCSE for DS, A-level for DD)!
