Choices WITHIN Maths A level

I've noticed several of the GS we are interested in offer a couple different "flavours" of maths, divided between mechanics and statistics elements.
Dd1 is very keen on biology- the best hour of her past week she announced, was the apparently interesting hour long entrance exam in biology for NLCS! And no she did not have a bad week!
She is also doing well in physics and enjoys maths less, so thinking of A level physics.
But would it be better for a Biologist to do maths with stats if it is available, than physics which is more mechanics?
She's aiming to be able to do Vet, even if she doesn't make it in the end, so has to take biology and chemistry.
Please advise.
