How much does Distinction in MAths AEA reduce an offer

This is for Guest 55 or those in the know re A2 MAths and Uni offers.
Back to lazy DS - DS says there is no point doing AEA just to reduce Uni offer of A*A*AA to A*A*A - extra work etc extra effort

Does the AEA require a lot of work? It replaces the 4th A Level?? but DS is reluctant quite good at C1-C4
Any advice?

I've never heard of offers being reduced for AEA - hardly any schools offer it now as STEP has become more important for uni offers [not just Cambridge].

Warwick have offered 2 A*s and 2 As or reduced this to 2A*s 1 A with Distinction in AEA.
So is around but is it a big commitment?

I thought they usually wanted STEP for Maths or is this for another degree?

I'd be inclined to focus on the A levels - do his school offer the AEA? It is more work ...

Exactly tiffinboys - STEP is more 'usual' and many schools run prep classes for it.
