I was assuming a career in, not just the undergraduate bit . The undergrad bit you really don't need to have done A Level maths for, especially since not everyone will have done S1 in the current syllabus.tiffinboys wrote:MSc would be post Medicine degree. General advice is to keep doors open for as long as possible so Maths A level rather than specialising in statistics at this stage. I would focus on the benefit of experience gained in a wider range of skills. Specialisation can come much later.
Apart from realising further down the line that you don't actually want to stay in the field that was your original choice there is the danger that once in the specialist field you lack the breath of background which enables collaboration and putting problems into a wider context.

If you do science A levels you can still gain admission onto a humanities course at a top university. It doesn't work the other way round.
