Is there some protest march today?
DC has been through and through a guinea pig.
In 2012, 11 plus entrance tests had many format changes in some of the schools, we choose. Schools were told to give selective test results before CAF date plus some other changes.
Then came changes to GCSE exams.
Now this A levels results fiasco.
Wondering what’s in store 3, 4 years down the line, when degree in being completed.

I think the review will bring in cap - that mock based grade wouldn’t be higher than Centre Assessed Grade - to avoid further grade inflation.bravado wrote:You really couldn't make it up, could you?
So many patches being applied to this methodology that soon it will be a totally unidentifiable.

I do hope everyone has written to their MPs to give their views? I would advise that any young people caught up in this, also write separately - these 6th formers are voters.

I want to thank every one on here for all the advice and support I've had over the years. From year 5 onwards, I think.
My daughter has made it! She got the AAA she needed - and after fighting hard all the way, she is going to Bristol to do medicine - in two weeks.
She emailed her CAG results on Results Day (when she was given AAB), continued to email and phone the university every single day from Results Day, 13 August, till last Wednesday, 3 September, when she could not believe she heard she had a place. She has accommodation too, in an apparently unpopular and pretty ugly tower block (she's on the top floor) but she does not care. Neither does she care about the fact Freshers Week may not happen, or she may have to learn online. She wants to get going.
She did also email Boris, Gavin, and our local MP - twice. She has persevered and probably does not realize how good this has been for her - she has been upset, stressed, but has learned to be a lot more assertive on the phone, and to write strongly worded messages.
I wonder if she got a place because Bristol got sick of her phoning them every day.
I have a fourteen year old so doubtless will be back but for now, just want to thank you all for everything. Who knows, there maybe a Doctor Skipsmash around in the distant future.
Thank you, everyone, again. Skipsmash

Heartiest congrats to your DD and to you, skipsmash
Surely this would give encouragement to everyone still fighting for their Uni place.
