Nor a private school...Genuine question, what is a selective 6th form called if not a grammar?

It's a selective sixth form 'college' like others around the country; it's not a school.

Yes - I'm waiting for these to be named because I don't think there are any GS which have sixth form entrance tests.

I doubt there are any, I suspect it was a genuine error as for many any state selective is considered to be a grammar, but I understand the distinction and it is an important one, paticularly for those in Y7-11.

Latymer asks externals to sit for science and maths as these are heavily over subscribed. The expectation for everyone is 6 grade 7's and grade 8 plus for further maths.

Has no-one challenged this as it treats external candidates differently?

Guest. You are wrong. St Olave's - well known now for other reasons has an exam for each subject you wish to take an A level in. Bexley grammars require you to take a maths exam if you want to study maths and further maths. Any school in the south-east that I came across expected you to take an exam for maths A level. Some of these also require drama, music tests.

Perhaps your area is different. Or perhaps the south-east is more oversubscribed due to over population. If a school sixth form is very oversubscribed they would be mad to just go on predicted grades.
