I hear very few managed to finish the second BMAT paper . My DDs verdict on her GAT (Geography Aptitude Test) exam? 'it was okay' whatever that means :roll:

Watching the video, I just knew there was a reason I dropped Maths A level about six weeks in all those decades ago :lol:.

Another Geography applicant here, although not for Oxbridge and UCAS not being submitted for another week or so. Where else have your DC applied and have they had offers yet?

That is great news. DD has her grades in hand and only decided to study Geography 3 weeks ago after applying for Politics last year. She has friend doing Geography at UCL. Her offer was AAA, she got A*BB and was accepted straight away. She is loving the course and is off to Spain on a field trip next week.

DD is on a gap year and still has not decided on her 5 choices yet!

DD sat the GAA for Geography at Cambridge. Didn’t manage to finish the last few critical thinking multi choice, which didn’t happen when she did the few practice papers :( but the essay she was very happy with. So we will see. She has offers from Bristol, Exeter and Nottingham. Waiting on Durham which is the one she really wants... fingers crossed.

DD sat the NSAA (natural sciences) for Cambridge and apparently 'it was okay'.
TBH that is all she ever says apart from a couple where she thought she had really bombed (she hadn't).

Now she waits ...

I think the Cam GAA is better than Oxford's GAT exam....it's more objective whereas GAT is almost impossible to gauge oneself there are essentially only two questions in section 1 ;

Discuss or compare and contrast.... critically. And the problem solving section is pretty similar for both but there were only two sample papers for GAT since it's new and just been introduced.

Anyway, best of luck :D

It's a waiting game for all of us now but DD is pretty happy with her alternatives, so, not overly stressed about Oxford.
