I see Simon Hughes has also had a rant about insisting that more pupils from state schools should be given places at university. It seems that he is saying they must be let in because they go to state schools and it just isn't fair that independent school pupils get more places proportionally than state school pupils. What is he on? I imagine he is on a vote catching trip as he is an ex-public school pupil and Cambridge graduate himself and therefore has reaped the benefits of this system.
