Go with your heart.

I don't like Southampton either - no character and the city is too busy for me - it doesn't feel like a campus either. Canterbury is a great place to be and the Uni is fine.

I think she is considering Kent now- she wants to do humanities, and it's in a separate little campus in Southampton, not far from the main one, but still....it was also raining when we went to see Southampton, and it was a beautiful sunny day in Kent, which definitely helps  Canterbury was just lovely, and the view from the Uni on top of the hill overlooking the cathedral was very special.

Of course it's not Russell Group though

Russell group is not everything ...

Which course is better? You are going to live in the place for three years - being happy is important!

Russel group is the cream in this country, aim high, in my personal opinion. Why do we settle on mediocrity in this country, if we can then we must!!

Absoluite rubbish poiuyt!

This is the list of Russell group Unis:
University of Birmingham
University of Bristol
University of Cambridge
Cardiff University
University of Edinburgh
University of Glasgow
Imperial College London
King's College London
University of Leeds
University of Liverpool
London School of Economics & Political Science
University of Manchester
Newcastle University
University of Nottingham
University of Oxford
Queen's University Belfast
University of Sheffield
University of Southampton
University College London
University of Warwick

No Durham or Exeter - because they don't have a medicine course. Russell group do not necessarily have the highest rated courses either.

Erm who said anything about mediocrity ?

Kent is no 23 on the Guardian Good University list out of 119 universities.
