With the shortages we have with Drs and other medical staff in the NHS it seems a nonsensical state of affairs.

Is this course regulated by the GMC, otherwise it would not be recognised in the EU, at least that would be understanding.

The GMC ensures all British Medical Courses are equivalent, that's why all Med Schools are equal since standards are regulated by an external body.
