Please elaborate.
To be honest I think if I need to elaborate then doing so is probably a lost cause. TY is a hated figure among almost everyone I know in Higher Ed, in fact in education generally. He has no qualifications for this job, no relevant experience in the field of either academic research or higher education, and is best known for far right views on diversity and inclusion (or rather, lack of both). As one academic put it, he is a 'Tory Cheerleader'. Many highly qualified individuals applied for this job. This a political appointment, end of: no doubt about it.
I will offer the opinion of some others which may point you in the right direction TB:

Toby Young got into Oxford with grades BBC on an access programme for comprehensive school children, but now he writes with contempt about inclusion, access, diversity and multiculturalism. It is hard to imagine someone less fit to be on the OfS board. (Kieran Walsh, Head of Manchester business school)

It took your Government's new universities adviser less than an hour to delete this tweet. (James O'Brien, quoting a tweet from TY with a graphic pornographic obscenity in it, posted and then removed this morning)

The reality of our establishment: a white man with no qualifications but good connections always gets the job. (Sunny Hundal, journalist)
