Re: Applications & offers 2020 & deferrals
My daughter's cohort now have their degrees, the first Covid-19 graduates.
Most of them have been saying for a year that they need at least a Masters degree to even get on the long list of the first jobs or traineeships they want, often in worldwide competition even for UK based opportunities. So they, and their younger undergraduate friends, are thinking to get their Bachelors degrees and Masters degrees first and then worry about anything else.
Any post-Covid-19 world will be more competitive than six months ago, not less.
Just a thought.

DS has just graduated, and is off to do a PhD. He did spend some time deciding whether to stay in academia, but a research based internship last summer helped him to decide. He is really glad he made that decision now, as others he graduated with cannot find jobs.

Congrats - I've had one just graduate - off to do a PGCE in September with a scholarship (phew!) and biting nails as waiting for A'level results in two weeks to see if offer/insurance has been made. It does seem like a really long haul all round

We also have a DD waiting for A level results - and finding it very hard that she didn't take the exams.
DS is supposed to start his PhD in Germany at the end of this month - but so far has had 2 flights booked and then cancelled a couple of days later. It's getting harder and harder to find flights at all.
