Hi,

Can anyone explain how music exams equate to UCAS points eg, grade 8 = ? Grade 7=? etc

And if you have 2 grade 8 exams do you get double UCAS points?

thanks

Yep that's really useful, thanks- the diploma after grade 8 doesn't attract any UCAS points though!

Remember though that many universities don't necessarily make offers based on UCAS points but specify two or three A level grades, often in specific subjects. It all depends on the degree course you want to do - read the info carefully. The extra points from AB exams are I would imagine most likely to be taken into account if applying for creative type degrees at the newer universities - however others may have examples where the AB points have tipped the balance. You would enter them on the UCAS form already though, so the unis could take them into account when making an offer

that is fascinating - and explains why one parent I know has kept up both music and HORSE RIDING! Shame there are no points for RYA certificates!!
