Hi Sindus,
My daughter had a very similar score last year. She got in in July- please see 'our journey' below:
Our score was 109.25 and we ranked 318 in the 2018 score list. Last place offered in March 2018 was 110.54 (ranking= 286).
We were 32 places below the last offered position. However, when the waiting list became available on March 24th we were placed 10th.
Since then:
On March 28th - 7th
April 25th - 8th
May 12th- 9th
May 19th - 8th
May 23th - 7th
June 26th -5th
July 5th - 3rd
July 13th - offer on its way.

Taking an entrance exam for a state selective school is not applying for a place.

Offers will be made on March 1st, although obviously where schools admit solely on score and report results as a rank, where the rank is within the school's PAN, people can be as sure as they can be that a place will be offered if they submit their CAF naming that school above any other which can also offer their DC a place.

The actual offer of a place must come via the applicant's home local authority on National Offer Day (1st March or next working day thereafter) and schools which contact those being made an offer in advance of that are in contravention of the Admissions Code.

My suggestion would be call Chelmsford and ask. Drop them an email. You never know. CCHS score is usually +-2 of WCHS. Her score is high enough for a OOC place if we go by last year's cut off. Iremember there was a similar thread last year on this.

But I am wondering whether it is possible to apply for a place at Chelmsford High School for girls instead. I know they use the same tests results but I have not registered my DD with them. Is it possible to apply?
