Redbridge 2014 possible CEM.

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone has heard about a possible change to the Redbridge 11+ test next year (2014). The standard VR and NVR will be replaced with the CEM. Hope someone can shed some light on this. I have been working through VR and NVR types with my daughter and now feel that this perhaps may not be required.

There doesnt seem to be any information on the Redbridge Council site or on ICHS/WCHS sites to indicate the move to CEM.

I was told by a friend of mine that her daughters tutor said English and Maths may become part of the Redbridge exam and that this would be announced in June. I am wondering whether this means the CEM. Since Chelmsford and other areas are now using CEM (tutor proof exam set by university of Durham), I think perhaps Redbridge may follow. Not sure of that was the case so just wanted to know if perhaps anyone else had heard anything.

I hope not! The CEM is tailor made for each school and changes each year, in an attempt to mke it tutor proof.

If there is any possible change, that has to be consulted upon. Is there any consultation by Redbridge LA for any changes in the testing arrangements?

Any change has to be finalized and determined by 15th April - not June.

I dont see why any changes Redbridge or any school/area may decide on - would be discussed with a tutor?

Like Latymer, Im sure changes like that would be published and public knowledge

Its not been discussed with them, they have heard something about possible changes to the exam......where they get info from not sure. Guess we will have to wait and see what changes.....if any these will be.
